Gardening classes are offered throughout the season or
by special request for groups and gardening clubs.
April 20th - 22 Bareroot Tree and Shrub sale (along with a few native perennioals)
to benefit JDCF (Jo Daviess County Conservation Foundation) Quantities are limited,
first come, first serve. They are 1-2 year old, bareroot plants that must be planted
asap. They are dormant, so weather should not be an issue. Varieties for this weekend
are Red Oak, Sugar Maple, Red Osier Dogwood, Viburnum trilobum (Highbush Cranberry)
and American Hazelnut. Next weekend we have some Downy Serviceberry that didn’t
get here in time. Please contact us for more info!
Plant Addicts Weekend...Mothers Day weekend May 12TH AND 13TH
Bring Mom and your friends to shop in our overflowing greenhouses, get professional
growing advice, walk the display gardens and snack on some cookies/coffee/lemonade!
May 18-20 JDCF Fundraiser Select selection of Native Plants in 4.5” pots to benefit
JDCF (Jo Daviess County Conservation Foundation) Quantities are limited, first come,
first serve. Planned varieties for the fundraiser include: Purple Prairie Clover,
Ozark Coneflower, Purple Coneflower, Dense Blazingstar, Showy Goldenrod, Prairie
Dropseed & maybe more. Short classes on the importance of native plants & their
roll in the ecosystem will be repeating throughout the weekend. Please contact us

June 16 Beyond the Barn Tour! Contact the Jo Daviess County Farm Bureau for more
information and tickets. Murphy’s Gardens is one of the farms on the tour.
